For Authors
How generative AI tools may be used in writing and review.
Business & Management Studies: An International Journal takes an open and responsible approach to the use of AI tools. If an AI tool was used for text generation, translation, language editing, data analysis or image generation, authors declare it at submission, naming the tool, its version and what it was used for.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. The authors alone are responsible for the accuracy and originality of the work; content produced with a tool is checked and sources are verified.
Submissions are confidential. Reviewers do not upload a manuscript, or any part of it, to external AI tools. The review report reflects the reviewer's own judgement.
Editors also do not upload submissions to external AI tools. The AI features on the platform only offer suggestions for tasks such as language editing, translation and formatting; the decision is always the editor's. AI does not choose a decision, a reviewer or a section editor.
The platform's AI features run only when a user presses the relevant button and only produce suggestions. The journal can switch them off separately for authors, editors and reviewers.
Reading from the file is on for this journal: when the author asks for it, the first pages of the manuscript file and the ethics approval document are read, and the title, abstract, keywords and ethics approval details are offered as suggestions. The files are not kept for this reading.
